Niets is wat het lijkt, dat bewijst dit herenhuis (ca.215m2) uit 1889. Achter de monumentale voorgevel gaat een modern herenhuis schuil met splitlevels, vide, moderne wenteltrap en een spectaculaire glazen pui. Een groter contrast is bijna niet denkbaar.
Door de glazen achter pui komt er heel veel licht in het huis wat een bijzondere uitstraling en een ruimtelijk effect geeft.
Het huis is in 2008 voor een deel gesloopt, volledig gefundeerd, om daarna (onder architectuur) een ingrijpende en revolutionaire verbouwing te ondergaan. De voorzijde van het huis is een beschermd stadsgezicht en heeft zijn klassieke karakter behouden. Zo tref je onder andere nog de originele entree, de en-suite separatie, houten panelen, evenals de glas-in-lood ramen.

Thanks to the glass front, the house is well-lit, which gives it a special allure and a spacious effect.

In 2008, the house was partially deconstructed and a completely new foundation was added, so it could undergo a radical and revolutionary reconstruction (under architecture) afterwards. The front of the house is a Dutch protected townscape and the classical features have been preserved, including the original entrance, the en suite separation, wooden panels as well as stained glass windows.

Located in one of the most beautiful places in the quiet van Merlenstraat, across the classic, renovated school building in the beloved Regentessekwartier, adjacent to the cosy Koningsplein. The terrace house is at the intersection between the Reinkenstraat, the trendy and fun Zeeheldenkwartier and the Weimarstraat. Layout:

From the garden, you can clearly see the dressing room as a striking “floating cube” right in the middle of the house as well as the split level floors and the steel spiral staircase.

From the hallway, the original staircase takes you to the first floor, landing, small bedroom and spacious, authentic master bedroom in the front of the house, with the original panels and French doors to the modern, large and bright dressing room with customised, ceiling-high wardrobe closets, 5 steps to the slightly higher located bathroom with toilet, double shower and double wash basins. It is possible to reach the intermediate floors above and below using the spiral staircase.

Second floor:
Accessible via the spiral staircase or using the fixed staircase, spacious landing, bathroom with shower, wash basin and toilet, 2 bedrooms in the front of the house, large storage room in between with space for a washing machine and dryer, in the rear a very bright and spacious studio with high ceilings, gorgeous view out and view through to the floors below.
